How beliefs about money shape financial results.

My review

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind is in the same vein as Rich Dad Poor Dad, but I came away feeling it was less shallow. It explores fewer ideas and does more with the ones it picks. The central thesis is that each person has an internal money blueprint, built from what they heard and saw at home, and that this blueprint decides their financial results before any technique comes into play.

I just didn't like the more coach-y, Pablo Marçal-style part (he's a Brazilian self-help guru): there's a passage asking you to put your hand on your chest and repeat a phrase, and that pulled me right out of the book. I also think he overstates the weight of mindset and downplays context, luck and starting point, which feels pretty odd after reading Outliers. Mindset matters, but it doesn't explain everything.
