My review
I couldn't make it to Uncle Garzeli's wake. Maybe that's why this book became even more important to me afterwards. It's my way of still learning from him.
The book teaches a lot about the Order, and about the way he treats the virtues, which appear not as a list to memorise for the ritual, but as something you practise at home, at school, at work. He writes with the affection of someone who devoted a lot of time to young people who were just starting out, and that shows on every page. This isn't the writing of someone who studied the Order from a distance.
Like Hi Dad, it's almost required reading for every DeMolay, especially those who have just been initiated and are still trying to understand what the virtues really ask of them. Uncle, you were wonderful. Thank you so much for the legacy and for everything.
