My review
I've lost count of how many times I've told someone the story of Carlo Acutis. At parties, in work conversations, to friends who aren't even Catholic haha. He is my patron saint, and this book has a very special place on my shelf.
What gets me about Carlo is how close he feels. A teenager who liked video games, who taught himself to code and used it to catalogue Eucharistic miracles on a website. I started coding as a kid, and when I read that I feel that holiness isn't something from another era, for distant people. He lived in a world much like mine and chose God in the middle of it. And there's one detail that always strikes me: he died in 2006, the year I was born.
The book made me see his faith in everyday life: in daily Mass, in quiet charity, in the way he dealt with his illness. It's a read that calms me and holds me to account at the same time.
I recommend it to anyone, Catholic or not. To young people whose lives revolve around tech, I recommend it even more insistently.
